Solving exponential equations & Logarithmic functions

Hey guys Francis here sorry for the late update :/ but in Thursday's class we learned about Solving exponential equations which deals with the Exponent rules and the steps on how to solve exponential equations.

Exponent rules:

Solving Exponential Equation

Steps:
1. Make bases the same
2. Cancel same bases
3. Solve the remaining exponential equation
4. Check your answer

Example:

convert 81 to 3^4 to have the same base as the left hand side

cancel out the bases

take the square root of both sides to get x by its own

Today in class we covered Logarithmic functions this lesson deals with graphing logarithmic functions and converting exponential form to logarithmic form. We also learned that log is always based 10 unless told so.

Exponential form:

Inverse:

Logarithmic form:

Remember that

Mr.P also taught us the 7 rule:

We also learn how to graph a logarithmic function:
