Hi guys, my name is Eejay Lance Chua
Today in class we have learned about the General Solutions of Trigonometric Equations.
- Not bound by an interval
- It has an unlimited coterminal answers
- To each solution for sinθ or cosθ, we add 360°k for degrees or 2kπ for radians
- To each solution for tanθ add 180°k for degrees or kπ for radians
- k accounts for all positive and negative coterminal integers
- Include with every answer: where kϵI ( where k is an element of an integer)
θ = π/4 + 2kπ, 7π/4 + 2kπ where k ϵ I
or
θ = 45° + 360°k, 315° + 360°k where k ϵ I
Homework: Exercise 5, Questions 1, 3-8(use radians)
